Integrative Trauma-Informed Holistic Somatic Body Restoration

At Beyond Brain and Body, we believe healing unfolds when we tend to the whole of who we are. Our work is rooted in a holistic approach that honors the relationship between movement, strength, cardiovascular health, rest, and recovery. Weekly therapeutic offerings include Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Sculpt, Yin Yoga, Reiki and Restore, Beyond Release (myofascial release paired with yin), and Mindfulness Meditation and Breathwork. Together, these practices create a balanced rhythm that supports vitality, resilience, and deep restoration.

This work extends beyond weekly classes. Beyond Brain and Body functions as a wellness and retreat center, offering individual sessions, small groups, workshops, retreats, trainings, and immersive programs. These experiences are intentionally designed to support deeper integration, community connection, and sustained healing, rather than quick fixes or surface-level change.

Nestled in the mountains of Ball Ground, Georgia, the retreat center offers a setting where the body can soften and the nervous system can exhale. The land, the quiet, and the pace of the space are all part of the work. Retreats and immersive experiences allow participants to step away from the demands of daily life and reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and one another in a way that feels grounded and supported.

Our professional trainings invite wellness practitioners and helping professionals to expand their craft through a truly integrative lens. By incorporating body-based practices into counseling, nursing, teaching, coaching, and other care-centered professions, practitioners deepen their capacity for attunement, regulation, and presence. These trainings do not replace existing modalities. They enhance them, offering a more embodied way of supporting others.

At the heart of this work is the understanding that while the body and brain are distinct, they are deeply interconnected. The body holds memory, emotion, and lived experience. By working through movement, stillness, breath, and sensation, we access layers of healing that words alone cannot reach. Our approach integrates mindfulness, breathwork, and body spotting, a somatic practice derived from Brainspotting, to gently bring awareness to where experiences live within the body.

Through this integrated approach, healing becomes less about fixing and more about remembering. Remembering the intelligence of the body, the wisdom of the nervous system, and the innate capacity within each person to heal, adapt, and return to wholeness.

Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga: Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga is a mindful form of yoga that prioritizes safety, awareness, and self-compassion. Designed to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, it incorporates bodywork, breathwork and mindfulness practices to foster a deeper sense of presence. Yoga from a therapeutic perspective looks at the individual tailoring each session to you unique needs, recognizing and respecting personal boundaries and past experiences.

Integrative Therapeutic Bodywork: Integrative Therapeutic Bodywork is my unique approach, combining elements of Thai Yoga Bodywork, Myofascial Release, Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga with Hands-On Assists, and Assisted Stretching. Each session weaves these modalities together to provide customized support, meeting your individual needs and fostering holistic healing.

Thai Yoga Bodywork: Thai Yoga Bodywork hands-on practice that combines elements of yoga assists, acupressure, and dynamic stretching. Thai yoga bodywork releases physical tension, enhances circulation, and encourages relaxation. It supports the body’s natural healing processes, aiding in the release of deeply held emotions that may be stored in the muscles and fascia.

Myofascial Release (MFR): By applying sustained pressure to the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs), MFR helps relieve chronic pain and physical tension. This approach recognizes the somatic connection between physical discomfort and emotional trauma, facilitating release and fostering a profound sense of relaxation.

Assisted Stretching: Customized to individual needs, assisted stretching supports flexibility, mobility, and overall well-being. It enables clients to experience gentle movement within a supported environment, promoting both physical and mental release. This technique helps break patterns of tension held in the body, fostering an embodied sense of freedom.

Body Spotting: Inspired by brainspotting, body spotting involves mindful attention to areas of physical tension or emotional intensity within the body. By focusing on these areas through awareness, individuals can release trauma held in the body, facilitating deep healing and integration.

Energy Work: Reiki & Restore™ sessions combine intuitive healing with mindfulness, movement, and breath to restore flow and harmony throughout your body and energy field. Leave feeling grounded, centered, and reconnected to your natural state of peace and vitality.

Each element of this trauma-informed, integrative, and holistic approach works together to honor the mind-body connection, recognizing that true healing involves tending to both.
